Careers

Build the NOC of the next decade.

Operator-first product, distributed team. We are hiring across backend, SRE, design and solutions — and we pay our customer-operator advisors. The application portal is in build; until it lands, the path is a direct email to the role you want.

How we work

Four things we do — every cycle, every role.

Whether you write code, run on-call or hold the operator pager, this is the operating model you would be joining.

Operators carry pagers. So do we.

Every engineer rotates through an on-call shift inside a customer NOC during onboarding. You see how the product is used before you write code for it.

  • Onboarding rotation in a customer NOC · paid, scheduled, expected
  • Tight customer loop · we ship for them, not at them
  • No "designed in a vacuum" features ever go to GA

Distributed, with deliberate overlap windows.

We work across time zones, but at least 3 hours of daily overlap with your customer's NOC team. Async by default, sync where it matters.

  • Customer-overlap windows scheduled per engineer / per region
  • Async-first communication — heavy bias toward written context
  • Quarterly in-person summits at customer sites where possible

Boring + correct beats clever + fragile.

Our customers run critical infrastructure. We are the operator surface, not the science experiment. Boring well is the goal.

  • Conservative tech choices · Postgres + Rust + Go + Next.js
  • Test what fails first; the happy path is the easy part
  • Production access is earned by demonstrated discipline, not seniority

Compensation: fair, simple, transparent.

Salary bands published internally. Equity grants reviewed every cycle. Healthcare paid 100%. No surprise levelling, no salary-negotiation theatre.

  • Salary bands · public within the company · reviewed annually
  • Equity refresh every cycle, not just at hire
  • Healthcare + dental + vision · 100% paid for employee and family
Open roles

Five seats open this cycle.

Backend engineer · Rust + Go

Apply

Own the telemetry ingest pipeline and the runbook execution engine. We process operator-grade events at carrier-network scale; "boring + correct" is a feature.

  • Production Rust or Go for 3+ years
  • Comfortable with high-throughput event pipelines (Kafka / NATS / Redpanda)
  • Strong on testing discipline — you write the failure modes before the happy path

Site reliability engineer

Apply

Run our production environment with the same discipline our customers run theirs. Multi-region, customer-managed-key, NFPA 1221 evidence — without panic.

  • SRE for a multi-region SaaS at scale
  • Kubernetes, Terraform, observability stack of your choice
  • You have been on the bad side of a 3am page; you would build to prevent ours

Founding designer

Apply

Lead the design system across the marketing site, the operator console and the embedded customer-facing portals. The bar is the design language of the home page; keep it.

  • Shipped a product-grade design system end-to-end
  • Comfortable with code (you can edit a component, you do not need a translator)
  • Care about typography and spacing the way good operators care about MTTR

Solutions engineer · North America

Apply

Sit between the customer NOC and engineering. Translate operator pain into product spec, run sandboxes for prospects, own onboarding through first ingest.

  • Carried a pager in a critical-infrastructure NOC (telecom, public safety, DC, EV — pick yours)
  • Comfortable in front of executives and on a call with the on-call tech
  • Write a runbook a tech can actually follow

Customer NOC operator · advisor (paid)

Apply

Half-time engagement: review every release as a working operator before it ships. Roadmap input, acceptance calls, post-release feedback. Paid honorarium + warrant.

  • Currently working as a NOC manager / on-call lead in critical infrastructure
  • Time to commit ~8 hours / month
  • You will tell us no
How to apply

Until the ATS portal lands, a real email works.

Mail the role-specific address above with:

  • A paragraph about what you have shipped that you are proud of
  • A link to code, a writeup, a runbook or a system you built that we can read
  • Where in the world you work, and roughly which hours overlap with North America / EMEA / APAC
  • Anything else that you think makes the case

We read every email. We respond within 7 business days, even if the answer is no.

Not sure which role

Write to careers@observone.com
and we'll route it.

Talented people often do not fit a published role. If that's you, write to the general address — a real human reads it within the week.
